Addiction is a complex and deeply personal struggle that affects people in different ways. No two patients are the same, and that’s why there’s a variety of treatment options available. For a lot of men, traditional treatment methods don’t always cut it. Sitting in a room and discussing their emotions can feel uncomfortable and even unproductive. Our men’s only addiction recovery programs guide men into lasting sobriety by engaging the full spectrum of mind, body, and spirit. Rather than relying solely on traditional talk therapy, our adventure-based modality employs outdoor adventure therapy to activate healing through real-world experiences in nature. By engaging in outdoor activities, team challenges, and reflective sessions, men reconnect to their authentic selves, rebuild resilience, and carry their breakthroughs into everyday life.

The effectiveness of adventure-based and nature-immersive therapies is increasingly supported by research. Outdoor activities have even been shown to lower cortisol levels, reducing stress and anxiety, and improving overall mental health. The NIH Clinical Center findings validate the integration of outdoor challenge with traditional addiction treatment for men seeking deeper transformation.
This modality is not simply an add-on, it’s a focused pathway for men ready to move beyond surface healing into embodied, adventure-driven recovery. In addition to adventure therapy, Sacred Journey Recovery also incorporates traditional treatment methods to support our clients. We provide inpatient care in a structured, immersive setting that provides 24/7 supervision and a strong therapeutic community
Each day at our Vista facility merges structure with exploration:
This approach delivers a holistic, masculine-focused healing environment that fosters resilience, trust, connection, and purposeful living, empowering men to stand confidently in recovery. Sacred Journey Recovery also offers partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and outpatient services. These are for clients with milder issues or those in need of a step-down program after a more intensive treatment.
